Linda Bailey, Founding Principal

Linda Bailey has been helping people reach their potential for over 25 years with leaders at some of Memphis’ best-known companies like FedEx, Duncan-Williams and International Paper.

A long-time executive and business owner herself, Linda is well versed in what it takes to run a successful organization. In 1987, she became CEO of Goals for Memphis, a nonprofit created in response to then-Gov. Lamar Alexander’s Memphis Jobs Conference. In 1997, she put her skills to work founding what is now known as New Memphis Institute to identify and train future leaders in Memphis. In 2002, she founded her own company, Linda Bailey Leadership, and has been helping leaders in all types of organizations tap their own potential ever since.

Her development process seeks to identify individual talents, leadership traits and motivations – then develop and capitalize on them. As a result, Linda and many of her clients believe that her approach has the greatest potential for transforming leaders, leadership teams and organizations.

Linda has been a Memphian since 1973. She is an honors graduate of Tulane University and was a public education teacher and owner of two businesses, Ampersand Rents and O.K. Storage and Transfer, before becoming CEO of Goals for Memphis. She and her husband Rod have two grown children.
